  • Contestants must be enrolled in an Indiana high school, college, university or other post secondary education institution
  • You must have a Twitter account to participate
  • If you use Instagram and/or Vine, you must link those platforms to your Twitter account
  • You must proide your Twitter, Instagram and Vine account names during registration
  • All posts entered must be public - not private accounts
  • Must use #TXTL8RIN in every post
  • Use “Drive Now. TXT L8R.” whenever possible in your posts 
  • Do not text and drive while putting together your posts 
  • Must register at http://www.txtl8r.in.gov/ sometime through March 30, 2014
  • Only content posted on social media channels between April 1 and April 30, 2014 will be considered
  • Winners will receive their prize through a direct deposit into their college 529 account
  • If a winner does not have a 529 account, they will need to set one up in order to receive their prize. Winners have 30 days from the end date of the contest, April 30, 2014, to create their 529 account to be eligible to win
  • Multiple posts from one user(or group) will be considered, and each post's reach metrics will be combined towards the team's final total
  • All rules, regulations and policies of the utilized social media channel must be followed
  • Creating fake or dummy accounts to increase reach statistics will result in immediate disqalification and forfeiture of the $5,000.00 prize
  • All content in conjunction with this contest must be free from explicit content (profane language, nudity, violence). Keep your work PG!
  • Contestants may work in groups with  maximum of three members
  • Contestants must abide by all copyright laws
  • Contestants may enter any category or all categories. However, contestants are only eligible for one (1) $5,000.00 prize
  • The State of Indiana retains all rights to all submissions and reserves the right to use the creative content in any future promotion
  • Winners names will be publically announced. Winners consent to having their name, likeness and general personal information (school name, year in school, city, etc.) used in promotional materials
  • All judges' decisions are final
  • Employees of the BMV, ICJI, IDOL, ISP or INDOT, directly involved in the planning and judging of the contest and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win.  The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, children, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.

  • You will be judged on the number of retweets and favorites the post(s) receives, as well as its overall reach
  • The person or team with the most retweets and favorites during the contest period will win.  There will be winners in both the high school and post-secondary divisions
