Prescription drug abuse is a growing epidemic affecting all manner of people, from the all-star student -athlete, to the corporate executive to the single mother. No age, race, social class or geographic location is above the danger of prescription drug abuse or misuse.  50 Americans die each day from prescription drug overdose, and more than 6 million people suffer from prescription drug abuse disorders in the U.S. Drug overdoses were blamed for 999 deaths in Indiana in 2012, a 57% increase over the past decade. Attorney General Greg Zoeller is committed to fighting this epidemic in our state.  In 2012, he launched the first and only statewide Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force to help fight rising abuse.

To help warn Hoosiers about the dangers of prescription drug abuse, the Attorney General’s Office created the website to offer helpful resources, including:

·         The First Do No Harm Prescriber’s Toolkit

·         Tips to safely dispose of Rx medications

·         Signs and symptoms of addiction

·         Treatment options
