CE Requirements: RVTs

Continuing Education for Registered Veterinary Technicians

Registered Veterinary Technicians are required to have completed 16 hours of continuing education acquired after January 1, 2022. Veterinary Technician registrations expire on January 1 of even-numbered years. The next renewal date is JANUARY 1, 2024.

Continuing education is not required for the year in which the initial veterinary technician registration was issued. Therefore, a person issued an original registration between the dates of January 1, 2022 and January 1, 2023 is required to submit only 8 hours of continuing education. A person who is issued an original registration after January 1, 2023 is not required to submit continuing education for the next renewal.

You may find a copy of the continuing education rules at 888 IAC 1.1-10-1 of the statutes and rules.
