2000 Public Questions & Judicial Retention

RATIFICATION OF STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS

The following constitutional amendment public question will appear on the Indiana ballot statewide:

PUBLIC QUESTION #1

Shall Article 7, Section 4 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana be amended so that criminal appeals from a sentence of life imprisonment or a prison term of more than fifty years follow the same path through the Court of Appeals to the Indiana Supreme Court that civil appeals do? (This question concerns Article 7, Section 4 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana.)

JUDICAL RETENTION

There will be three ballot variations for judicial retention ballot questions. The retention questions will appear on the ballot in the county that correlates to the district the judge serves. Districts 4 and 5 are combined districts and cover all the counties so they will appear on the ballot in all the counties. Districts 1 and 3 cover only certain counties.

District 1, 4 and 5 counties will have the following judicial questions for the following named judges:

Shall Judge Lloyd Mark Bailey be retained in office?

INDIANA COURT OF APPEALS DISTRICT 4

Shall Judge Melissa S. Mattingly be retained in office?

First District: Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Clark, Clay, Crawford, Daviess, Dearborn, Decatur, Dubois, Fayette, Floyd, Fountain, Franklin, Gibson, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Hendricks, Henry, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Ohio, Orange, Owen, Parke, Perry, Pike, Posey, Putnam, Randolph, Ripley, Rush, Scott, Shelby, Spencer, Sullivan, Switzerland, Union, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo, Warrick, Washington, and Wayne.

District 3, 4 and 5 counties will have the following judicial questions for the following named judges:

The remaining District 4 and 5 ONLY counties will have the following judicial questions for the following named judges:
