Gun Permit Application Process

Instructions for the Online Application Process

The online application process is administered by the Indiana State Police Firearms Licensing Section. All questions can be directed to the section at 317-232-8264. Please read these instructions completely before calling. If you have other questions about Indiana firearms laws, please check to see if your question is answered on the Firearms FAQ page on the Indiana State Police Website.

Click on Services
Click on Gun Permits


Answer all questions that apply.


At the end of the online application, print or write down your application number to take with you when you go to your local law enforcement agency. You will also need to have your application number to schedule an appointment at an IdentoGO (INKLESS) site for fingerprints or call 1-
877-472-69 l 7.


After completing the ldentoGO process, you will need to go to the local law enforcement agency covering the jurisdiction in which you reside to complete the application process.
