Brown Ash Pond Compliance Project

UPDATE (5-13-2020): The IURC has approved the settlement agreements in this case.

Vectren Energy Delivery is seeking IURC approval of plans to close the ash pond at its A.B. Brown Generating Station in Posey County, along with approval to recover the costs through future electric rate increases.

In its petition, the utility estimates the project's costs at $165 million and states that the project is necessary for compliance with the US EPA's Coal Combustion Residual rule.

A settlement agreement among the OUCC, Vectren, and the Citizens Action Coalition is now pending before the Commission:

All hearings and filings in this case are complete. The Commission may approve, deny, or modify any settlement agreement before it.
