IPL Advanced Meter Tariff

The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC), Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana (CAC), and IPL have reached a settlement agreement regarding an advanced meter opt-out tariff for IPL's residential customers. Settlement testimony from the parties, including the OUCC, was filed on August 14, 2020.

The agreement is pending before the IURC, which may approve, deny, or modify any agreement before it.

If approved, the agreement would establish a $48.00 up front charge for customers who wish to opt out of advanced metering (AMI or AMR) use. It would also establish a $20.00 monthly charge for customers who opt out and choose manual meter readings by IPL. There would be no monthly charge for a customer choosing to self-read the meter.
