Vectren Electric Generation Transition Plan

UPDATE (4/25/19): In an April 24, 2019 order, the IURC denied Vectren's proposed gas-fired plant and approved its requested coal upgrade for Culley 3.

Vectren Energy Delivery is requesting IURC approval to build and operate a new natural gas-fired electric generating station, upgrade its Culley 3 coal-fired generating unit to comply with federal environmental regulations, and recover project costs through rates.

The OUCC is recommending that the proposal be denied. Our August 13, 2018 news release summarizes the following testimony:

Multiple intervenors in the case, including the OUCC, filed proposed orders (the equivalent of closing arguments) on January 22, 2019.

An IURC field hearing was held in Evansville on July 11, 2018, and the OUCC filed more than 600 consumer comments with its testimony. The OUCC issued a June 28, 2018 news release to invite public input.
