NIPSCO Energy Efficiency Plans
Northern Indiana Public Service Company’s (NIPSCO’s) electric utility is offering energy efficiency programs under IURC orders issued in November 2014 and December 2015.
In the 2015 case, the OUCC recommended denial of NIPSCO’s request to recover lost revenues and shareholder incentives through rates. The IURC order denied shareholder incentives. It approved the recovery of lost revenues through customer rates, capping the recovery at a 4-year period. To review the case file, visit the IURC website and enter Cause Number 44634.
More recently, NIPSCO has received approval of a three-year electric energy efficiency plan for 2019 through 2021. The IURC's order in this case approved a settlement agreement among the OUCC, NIPSCO, and the Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana. The case file for Cause No. 45011 is available on the IURC website.
In a separate case - Cause Number 45012 - NIPSCO requested approval of a three-year energy efficiency plan for its natural gas utility. The IURC's November 2018 order approved a settlement agreement among the OUCC, NIPSCO, and the Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana.
