Aqua Indiana

Aqua Indiana, Inc. provides water and sewer utility service in several Indiana communities.

The utility has recently two rate cases for two of its service territories:

White Oak Wastewater (Crawford County) - IURC Cause No. 45308-U

  • The utility filed its request on October 18, 2019.
  • All publicly filed documents are available online in the IURC case file.
  • The OUCC issued a November 6, 2019 news release to invite public comments.
  • OUCC testimony was filed on January 16, 2020.
  • The IURC issued its final order on March 11, 2020.

Darlington Water (Montgomery County) - IURC Cause No. 45314-U

  • The utility filed its request on November 1, 2019.
  • All publicly filed documents are available online in the IURC case file.
  • An IURC public field hearing was held in Darlington on February 18, 2020. The OUCC issued a February 3, 2020 news release to invite public comments.
  • The OUCC and the utility filed a settlement agreement on April 28, 2020.
  • This case is still pending.

Aqua Indiana requested both increases through the state's Small Utility Filing Procedure, a streamlined process aimed at reducing rate case expenses. The standard of review by the OUCC and IURC is the same as in all rate cases.

In December 2015, the IURC approved the sale of Wastewater One's Galena System in Floyd County to Aqua Indiana.

Aqua Indiana received approval in December 2016 to purchase Wedgewood Park Water Company in St. Joseph County. In January 2017, Aqua Indiana received approval to purchase White Oak Sewage Treatment in Crawford County. The OUCC and the utility reached settlement agreements in both cases.
