Code of Judicial Conduct

OALP administrative law judges and staff must abide by the Code of Judicial Conduct for Administrative Law Judges.

OALP administrative law judges provide parties an impartial review process through which contested issues can be decided fairly. The Code of Judicial Conduct is a formal way to govern the acts of administrative law judges and ensure each proceeding consistently delivers quality and fair treatment to all parties.

File a Complaint: If you have a concern about whether an administrative law judge is adhering to the Code of Judicial Conduct, Indiana law entitles you to file a complaint with the Director of OALP. If you wish to notify the Director of an alleged violation, please complete the form here.

Complaint Process: Once a complaint is received, the Director will review and investigate each allegation by speaking with you, the administrative law judge, and any other individual who might have information relevant to the allegation. The Director will also review any other information or documents relevant to the allegation. Following investigation of your allegation, the Director or the Director’s designee will contact you and the administrative law judge to inform you of its conclusion.
