The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) contracts with two medical equipment suppliers to provide incontinence, ostomy and urological supplies – including but not limited to diapers, underpads, ostomy bags and gloves – to members enrolled in a fee-for-service (FFS) Medicaid program.
All incontinence, ostomy and urological supplies for FFS members are to be obtained through mail order from one of the two contracted vendors:
These two IHCP enrolled vendors work directly with physicians in the IHCP network to process prescriptions for FFS members who need supplies. In addition, these members undergo a nursing assessment done by the vendor to determine the appropriate products, brands and quantities of incontinence products needed. All nursing assessments are performed by a licensed nurse.
For members with managed care coverage through such programs as Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), Hoosier Care Connect, Hoosier Healthwise or Indiana PathWays for Aging (PathWays), incontinence, ostomy and urological supplies are managed through the member’s health plan and the health plan’s network of providers.
