Our goal with Health First Indiana is to ensure that every Hoosier has access to the core public health services that allow them to achieve their optimal health and well-being by participating in Fatality Review, establishing maternal and child health, and providing case management and prevention for Tuberculosis.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Xylazine is a non-opioid veterinary sedative that causes respiratory depression, low blood pressure, skin ulcers, and other major side effects. It is commonly mixed with illicit drugs, easily causing overdose. Narcan does not work on Xylazine, and there is no antidote. Click on the alert for more details.

Vaccine & Immunization Information from CDC

The Health Department has partnered with VaxCare to provide vaccinations to the insured, uninsured, and underinsured. We have all vaccines available upon school requirements.

Patients under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible parent/guardian. If someone other than a parent/guardian will be coming with the patient, a note signed by the parent/guardian listed in the patient's record MUST be provided.

Insurance information will be collected and billed if applicable. Co-Pays may apply.

The CDC recommends getting the flu shot every year. The Decatur County Health Department offers influenza vaccines to anyone with no fee.
