  • COVID-19 Vaccines
  • Child Immunizations
  • Adult Immunizations

Children with insurance policies that cover vaccinations, including those with high deductible co-pays, ARE NOT eligible for free vaccinations at Decatur County Health Department. We DO offer vaccines to those on Medicaid, those whose insurance does not cover vaccinations and those who do not have insurance coverage. We have all vaccines available upon school requirements.

Patients under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible parent/guardian. If someone other than a parent/guardian will be coming with the patient, a note signed by the parent/guardian listed in the patient's record MUST be provided.  All new patients MUST bring proof of insurance, or Medicaid.

Depending on eligibility, please call (812) 663-8301.

Communicable disease is considered any illness that can be transmitted from person to person. Communicable disease surveillance and control involves investigation of cases, their contacts, follow-up, and education. All information is confidential. The Decatur County Health Department is responsible for reporting and following up all state defined reportable diseases. Education on the patient, family, schools, and community is available.

The CDC recommends getting the flu shot every year. The Decatur County Health Department offers influenza vaccines to anyone with no fee. Stop the flu!
