INSPIRE Portals Provide ACA Resources for Patrons, Librarians
 INSPIRE, Indiana's Virtual Library, recently added a resources portal for patrons and librarians designed to connect them with the latest information pertaining to the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The patron portal provides links to videos, fact sheets and where to find help locally. The librarian portal provides a list of resources, promotional materials, training opportunities, and INSPIRE health databases.
Indiana libraries have been on the front lines of providing support for eGovernment programs as they have increased exponentially in availability over the past decade. Whether its filing for unemployment or registering for a fishing license, Indiana librarians support their respective community’s needs to both understand (digital literacy) and access eGovernment services. In many Indiana communities, the public library is the only place that residents can turn if they cannot afford a computer or internet access.
Most Indiana libraries are already offering special programs and services for the public. A great example is the Indianapolis Public Library, which has created an informative ACA resources and information webpage.
More Library Resources Available on WebJunction Indiana
The Indiana State Library is a WebJunction partner so all library professionals in the state have access to the webinars WebJunction has facilitated on ACA. The eHealth page on WebJunction has several archived ACA webinars which are free and very helpful resources to start getting prepared for assisting patrons with the health insurance marketplace.
Update on Use of Customized Materials and HealthCare.gov Brand
- Organizations are free to add their own brand image/logos to existing Marketplace materials for use with their stakeholders.
- However, any modification to or customization of materials that use the Health Insurance Marketplace brand are subject to the guidelines/approvals put forth in the branding guide.
- WebJunction will be working to customize library materials over the course of the open enrollment period.
Webinar Outlines Library Participation in Money Smart Week
 Financial literacy is important to all communities, and libraries can be part of the solution. Open Positions @ the State Library
 Business Office Supervisor (Executive) (Job ID # 586325)
This position will attend executive staff meetings to report on the financial status of the agency and will serve as a financial resource for the State Librarian. The selected candidate will ensure all available federal and state funds are procured to support the agency. Additionally, the selected candidate will ensure proper, timely and effective financial reporting; oversee and implement recommendations of internal State Library fiscal policies; manage agency’s federal reimbursement program; grant management; agency procurement oversight; efficiency investigations oversight and management; and all related budgetary programs associated with the agency.
Circulation & Support Director (Job ID # 586321)
The Indiana State Library has a vacancy for their Circulation & Support Director within their . This position supervises all aspects of the Circulation & Support Division (CSD), and performs the following tasks, among others:
- Act as the Evergreen Indiana local administrator;
- Compile and report circulations, library visits, and shelving statistics;
- Write and implement circulation and support policies and procedures;
- Assist and advise the Associate Director in submitting budget requests;
- Coordinate all incoming and outgoing mail within the State Library;
- Provide technical assistance and information to patrons, as requested, both in person and via email, phone and letters;
- Act as a backup to the Director of Operations during absences; and
- Oversee the timely & accurate paging and shelving of library materials.
