Speakers:
Alaina Kreger: is a Forensic Scientist/DNA analyst in the Biology Unit of the Indianapolis Marion County Forensic Services Agency. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Forensic Biology and a Master of Science in Pharmacy with a concentration in Forensic DNA/Serology. Kreger is the CODIS Administrator for the Unit. Outside of work, she loves her kayak, the Colts and the Tigers ("I’m a sucker for punishment," she says), and travel.
Kimberly Marshall: After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a Minor in Biology and a Minor in Criminal Justice from Indiana University, Kimberly Marshall started working at the Indiana State Police Laboratory in Indianapolis. She has been employed as a forensic biologist at the lab for eighteen years. Kim is a member of the Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (MAFS) and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), and she is certified in Molecular Biology by the American Board of Criminalistics (ABC). Kim has conducted forensic biology training for SANEs and other groups across the state for more than ten years. She is also a member of the MURel (Missing Persons, Unidentified Human Remains, and Relationship Testing) team at the Indiana State Police Laboratory. Kim just completed a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Genetic Genealogy at the University of New Haven and is a team member of the Indiana State Police Laboratory’s FIGG (Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy) program, which she helped to develop over the past year.
Registration requirements: Current, active employment as a forensic nurse or in a related victim service field (e.g. Law Enforcement, Healthcare, Law, Advocacy, etc.)
Intended Audience: CEs, CMEs, CLEs, & LETBS to be provided to Forensic Nurses, Frontline & Emergency Department Healthcare Workers, Law Enforcement Officers, Attorneys, and allied Victim Service Professionals in the State of Indiana by the Center for Continuing Professional Development at IU Health & the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
