With a new year comes another tax season, so start preparing your documents now to avoid the stress later.
To ensure your tax documents are correct and mailed to the right location, log in to your account by Dec. 26, 2024, and update your address and member information.
If you are having trouble accessing your account and need a new PIN, call us at (844) GO-INPRS or 844-464-6777 to request one via mail. Please note: your PIN may take 5-7 business days to arrive, so the sooner you call in, the sooner you can log in to your account.
Your 2024 1099-R will be mailed by Jan. 31, 2025. It may take a few days to receive your physical copy in the mail due to normal postal delivery time. You can also find your 1099-R on your account shortly after it is mailed. Watch this video to learn how to locate your 1099-R while you’re logged in to your account at myINPRSretirement.org.
If needed, reprints and/or copies of your 1099-R may be requested beginning, Feb. 14, 2025. Due to the volume of requests, this process may be quite lengthy. If you can, please log on to your account to obtain your 1099-R. Reprints can delay your tax submission if requested too late. Avoid this delay by double-checking your information today. If you haven't received your 1099-R by Feb. 15, 2025, call us.
Tip for when you receive your 1099-R:
Your 1099-R is an important piece of your income data, and you need it to complete your taxes accurately. Pay special attention to Box 7 of your 1099-R to ensure it is appropriate for your situation. If the “early distribution-no known exception” box is checked and you believe that there is an exception, please consult your tax advisor.
