The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) was directed in HEA 1065 to complete a study of topics related to the Indiana Universal Service Fund (IUSF) and broadband deployment.

Indiana Rural Broadband Working Group

In 2019, Lt. Governor Crouch, along with the Indiana Broadband Office, convened a Rural Broadband Stakeholder Group. Participants included providers, business leaders and both the public and private sectors. Over several meetings, these stakeholders engaged in discussions covering a wide range of broadband related topics.

Using the insights gathered during these meetings, the Indiana Broadband Office created a strategic plan to promote the benefits of expanding broadband to Hoosier families and businesses in unserved and underserved areas.

American Broadband Initiative Milestones Report

This report outlines a vision for how the Federal Government can increase broadband access and actions that Agencies are taking to increase private-sector investment in broadband. Previous attempts to expand broadband connectivity have made progress and provided valuable lessons that guide this Initiative. The report’s recommendations are grouped into three categories: streamlining Federal permitting processes to speed broadband deployment, leveraging Federal assets to lower the cost of broadband buildouts, and maximizing the impact of Federal funding.

Report to the President of the United States from the Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity

On April 25, 2017, you established the Interagency Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity through Executive Order 13790 and appointed me as its Chair. The purpose and function of this Task Force have been to identify legislative, regulatory, and policy changes to promote agriculture, economic development, job growth, infrastructure improvements, technological innovation, energy security, and quality of life in rural America.
