Allison Taylor is Interim Medicaid Director for Indiana’s Family and Social Services Agency (FSSA). In this role she provides policy and strategic planning leadership to the Indiana Medicaid program, which purchases and administers a full range of health care services for about 1.4 million low income and vulnerable Hoosiers through fee for service and managed care systems at an annual cost of approximately $10 billion. Prior to this role, Allison served as FSSA’s General Counsel. In this capacity she advised the Secretary of FSSA and coordinated all legal aspects of FSSA’s various human services divisions, including Medicaid. Legal projects of note included overseeing the legal aspects of establishing of a new state-operated mental health facility and continued implementation of HIP 2.0. Allison also managed agency-wide litigation, oversaw rule promulgation efforts and served as FSSA’s Ethics Officer.
Before joining FSSA, Allison was an attorney with Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman. In this capacity, she advised health care clients on regulatory compliance and appeals, reimbursement issues, and enrollment efforts. She also provided legislative services to health care clients before the Indiana General Assembly. Prior to her work at Hall Render, Allison served as the policy and legislative director to the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians.
Allison graduated from DePauw University and Robert H. McKinney School of Law at IUPUI. She is a member of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Services Series and is on the Board of the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Health and Life Sciences Committee.
