The Office of Records Management manages IDEM’s public records and responds to public record requests made to the agency in accordance with the Indiana Access to Public Records Act (Indiana Code 5-14-3). IDEM maintains a vast amount of the agency’s public records in its Virtual File Cabinet (VFC), a free, online repository that provides enhanced access to these records. For assistance with locating documents in the VFC, please contact the Office of Records Management.
To submit a public records request, please email, fax, mail, or hand-deliver a public records request using IDEM’s Request for Public Record (State Form 55542), available on the IDEM Agency Forms page. The office address and other contact information is provided on the form.
Visitors to IDEM’s Office of Records Management may use the agency’s public access computers to view agency public records during normal business hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Eastern Time), except on state holidays.
