Summary
In order to coincide with the development of the 2020-2024 Lake Michigan Lakewide Action and Management Plan (LAMP), IDEM and partner organizations have planned a series of webinars targeted at the broad range of organizations working on watershed protection and restoration efforts within the Lake Michigan basin. Webinars will take place every two weeks via Microsoft Teams between the months of October and February and are anticipated to run approximately one hour in length, unless otherwise stated. All webinars will be recorded and posted for later playback.
Note: The first three sessions took place via Zoom.
Who Should Attend
The primary goals of the webinar series are to:
- Provide education about tools and programs available to watershed groups and others to assist with implementation of watershed protection and restoration efforts.
- Improve communication and information sharing among watershed groups in Indiana’s portion of the Lake Michigan basin.
- Better connect groups operating in the western portion of the basin (the Coastal Region) with the eastern portion (the St. Joseph River Basin).
The webinar series is designed to serve a broad audience. Groups specifically encouraged to attend include, but are not limited to:
- Watershed groups operating under an IDEM-approved watershed management plan
- Municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) coordinators
- Nonprofit organizations, such as environmental organizations and land trusts involved in watershed protection and restoration efforts
- Members of the public involved in watershed protection and restoration efforts
Certain webinars likely have statewide applicability. In this case, interested parties outside the Lake Michigan basin are invited to attend. The geographic region to which the webinar applies may be found in the schedule below.
