Meet Your Coordinators

Dan Council – Northern Indiana Outreach Coordinator | dcouncil@iot.in.gov

Dan’s expertise in GIS and Human Geography started at Ball State University and later took him to Toronto, Canada, where he earned a Master’s degree in Spatial Analysis. Working with geodemographic data and analytics, he gained valuable experience before deciding to return to Indiana to help his home state leverage GIS for better planning and development. When he’s not busy with outreach, he enjoys traveling, gaming, and keeping active at the gym.

Rick Rahe – Southern Indiana Outreach Coordinator | rrahe@iot.in.gov

Rick's career has taken him across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, working in historic preservation before discovering his passion for GIS. His experience in surveying and GPS technology led him to become a key GIS specialist in Missouri, where he later earned a Master's in Geographic Information Science. Returning to Indiana in 2015, Rick has been instrumental in growing GIS programs for local communities. When he’s not working, you might catch him exploring state parks, cheering at sporting events, or cruising the Midwest in search of adventure!
