By the Indiana Geographic Information Office - July 28, 2025

The Indiana Geographic Information Office (IGIO) is excited to announce the launch of a new competitive, reimbursement-based, grant opportunity supporting educational institutions and non-profit organizations!

The Advancing Technology for Learning and Applied Spatial Solutions (ATLAS) grant is designed to empower colleges, universities, K-12 organizations, and other learning institutions to:

  • Advance applied geospatial research
  • Enhance accessibility of geographic data
  • Promote best practices in geographic data management and analysis
  • Ensure effective use and understanding of geographic data and concepts across various disciplines

Our mission is to foster a stronger geospatial community across Indiana by equipping educators, researchers, and students with the resources they need to lead innovation in the field.

Funding supports up to $150,000 per State fiscal year over the next two fiscal years, contingent upon the availability of funds. The target is four awards per fiscal year.

The grant application opens on August 4, 2025, and closes September 26, 2025. Grant guidelines and materials are available now through the State Budget Agency Grant Opportunities website.

State of Indiana Grants Management System

In 2023, the State of Indiana adopted a new grants management system called Euna Grants. Part of a larger initiative to improve grants management in Indiana, Euna Grants will track grants from application to closeout, establishing a more effective framework for managing grants. All state agencies are required to use this new grant management system to manage state and federal grants and fulfill their federal grant recipient monitoring responsibilities.

Applications will be submitted electronically through the Euna Grants Portal, and successful applicants will receive their award notices via Euna Grants. Following receipt of their award, subrecipients will use Euna Grants to manage their grants, including submitting activity reports, requesting reimbursement, and conducting grant close-out activities.

For training materials, technical support, and other information about Euna Grants, please visit the Indiana State Budget Agency website at www.in.gov/sba/grants.
