    Fall Creek Greenway

    1.83 miles

    Extends the Fall Creek Greenway 1.83 miles from 63rd Street and Lee Road to 71st Street and Fall Creek Parkway and the Upper Fall Creek Loop Trail. The new trail will be a paved multi-use path and will include a section of boardwalk. To the west, the existing Fall Creek Greenway runs over 14 miles from downtown Indianapolis to Fort Harrison State Park. Along 63rd Street, the new trail will connect to a Round 3 Next Level Trails project in Lawrence that connects to Forest Glen Elementary School and residential areas.

    3.1 miles

    Will build a 3.1-mile paved multi-use trail from the public library in LaCrosse to County Road 2200 South along a former railroad corridor. The project is part of the Great American Rail Trail, a proposed trail route from Washington, D.C. to Washington state. Partners on the project include LaPorte County and the Healthcare Foundation of LaPorte. Future plans include extending the trail south to North Judson and the existing 11-mile Erie Trail.

    Adds 0.82 miles of paved multi-use trail along the Marquette Greenway corridor in Burns Harbor. The new trail will pick up from the existing Marquette Greenway east of State Road 149 and traverse along the Little Calumet River, beneath an active railroad line, and toward the town of Porter. Construction of this segment will require extensive retaining wall and boardwalk. The Marquette Greenway is a proposed 50-mile visionary trail corridor that will connect Chicago and New Buffalo, Michigan. The new segment is being constructed in conjunction with a segment in the town of Porter.

    A 1.04-mile paved multi-use trail that will connect from Burns Harbor’s Marquette Greenway segment to the Porter Brickyard Trail at Howe Road. The Porter Brickyard Trail extends east to State Road 49, the Calumet Trail, and Indiana Dunes National Park. The Marquette Greenway is a proposed 50-mile visionary corridor that will connect Chicago and New Buffalo, Michigan. When complete, the Marquette Greenway will be contiguous from Portage to Michigan City.

    Will extend the existing Poka-Bache Trail 1.2-miles through southern Angola to the city boundary. The project is a part of a visionary trail corridor that runs through four counties from Pokagon State Park at the northern terminus to Ouabache State Park at the southern terminus. The Steuben County School District is a partner in this project. The project is in conjunction with the Steuben County portion of the Poka-Bache Trail connecting Angola to Pleasant Lake. Upon completion, the Poka-Bache Trail will extend more than 11 miles through Steuben County.

    Extends the Poka-Bache Trail 3.2 miles south from the southern city limits of Angola to the town of Pleasant Lake. The project is a part of a visionary trail corridor that runs through four counties, from Pokagon State Park at the northern terminus to Ouabache State Park at the southern terminus. This project is in conjunction with the city of Angola’s portion of the Poka-Bache Trail, connecting through the city and continuing north to Pokagon State Park. Upon completion, the Poka-Bache Trail will extend more than 11 miles through Steuben County.

    Adds 4.3-miles of 10-foot-wide asphalt shared-use path along the abandoned Penn Central rail corridor from County Road 1000 South to the town of Modoc, crossing through the town of Losantville. The trail bisects the Cardinal Greenway, an existing 50-mile trail from Richmond to Gaston through Muncie. The project is supported by land donations from Healthy Communities of Henry County, the town of Losantville, and the West Union Volunteer Fire Department.

    Illinois Road Trail

    Will build a 1.97-mile commercial corridor connector in Fort Wayne that provides access to Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center and other businesses, entertainment venues, restaurants, and residential areas in western Fort Wayne. The new trail project will connect the Getz Road Trail, the Ardmore Avenue Trail, Rockhill Park, and the River Greenway.

    Will build 1 mile of paved multi-use trail from Heritage Hills High School along County Road 1600 to the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and Lincoln State Park west of the town of Santa Claus. Within the national memorial, the new trail will connect to several miles of natural- surface hiking trails. Future plans include extending the trail east to existing trail along State Road 162 within Santa Claus and Holiday World amusement park. The Spencer County Visitors Bureau is a partner on this project.

    Oldenburg Heritage Trail

    Will construct a 0.43-mile, 10-foot-wide shared-use asphalt path along State Road 229, Sycamore Street, and Harvey Branch Creek, providing access to athletic fields and the town park. The new trail will use two existing pedestrian bridges to increase connectivity to existing trails and the historic core of Oldenburg. The Oldenburg Freudenfest is a major partner for this project.

    Rebekah Trail Extension

    Extends the existing Rebekah Trail 0.25-miles to the west and south connecting to Pirate Park, the Decatur County Public Library, and the future Main Street Trail to downtown Greensburg. The existing trail connects to Greensburg Elementary School, Greensburg High School, athletic fields, and residential neighborhoods.

    Will build 5.28 miles of paved multi-use trail from the town of Riley to the city of Terre Haute along a recently railbanked railroad corridor. The new trail will begin at Lama Road and travel west toward Terre Haute. East of Lama Road, Vigo County is constructing a 1.5-mile rail trail extending into the town center of Riley. Moving west toward Terre Haute, the new trail will pass Idle Creek Golf Course and travel beneath State Road 641. A proposed on-road route will connect users to the rail corridor in southeast Terre Haute.

    River Road/Tiger Drive Trails

    Adds new trail to fill gaps in the town’s existing trail network near the White River. The River Road segment is 0.54 miles, and the Tiger Drive segment is 0.18 miles. Completing these gaps will connect parks, schools, and sports facilities to the downtown area and to the trail network in the neighboring city of Muncie.

    Roberts Park Trail

    Adds 2.6 miles of concrete shared-use path that will connect Roberts Park, Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, and the State Hospital Park. To the west, the new trail will connect to Evansville’s Walnut Street Trail, which provides access to the University of Evansville, downtown Evansville, the Ohio River, and the city’s existing trail network.
