The St. Joseph County Judicial Nominating Commission is beginning the process of selecting a new superior court judge. The position became available on January 26 when Judge Cristal C. Brisco (Superior Court 4, Civil Division) was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.
Chief Judge Elizabeth Hurley of St. Joseph Superior Court reported that Judge Stephanie Steele requested and has been approved to transfer from Superior Court 1, Felony Division to Superior Court 4, Civil Division.
