The Pretrial Services Committee proposes amendments to the Pretrial Services Rules to clarify or update the certification expectations in several rules. The proposed changes
- Add a new requirement that a letter of intent to seek pretrial certification expires 18 months from the date of receipt by the Indiana Office of Court Services.
- Amend the qualifications for the coordinator and case manager positions to allow for a combination of education and paid work experience in criminal justice or human services, and paid work experience in criminal justice or human services alone. Two new definitions are proposed for criminal justice and human services.
- Add a new requirement that certified pretrial agencies are required to submit the annual pretrial services report to the local or regional Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council.
