Calvin B. McRae died yesterday afternoon at his residence, 624 East Christy Street. The deceased was one of Grant county’s old time citizens. He was eighty-seven years of age. He was born in South Carolina, and when he first came to Indiana settled in Wayne county. He came to Grant county about 1849. He was sheriff of Grant County from 1857 to 1861, and after that engaged in the grocery business for many years. In 1881 he removed to Springfield, Missouri, where his son, Leander, had moved previously. About a year and a half ago he removed to Grant county and Marion, and has lived quietly with his daughter in North Marion.
