Park Rules

Park Rules and Regulations

France Park offers a fun and friendly environment for all. Please take a moment to read and understand the park rules. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Camping Rules and Guidelines

  • Quiet time begins at 10:00 pm until 8:00 am
  • Fireworks are not permitted in the park.
  • The advertising and/or sale of food and merchandise must have prior approval from park authorities.
  • Campers are required to remove all trash and debris created during their stay
  • Pets are to remain on a leash and attended at all times. They are not allowed in the restrooms, or on the beach.
  • Owners of pets are required to pick up pet droppings in camp areas
  • Golf Carts and Mopeds are permitted with a valid driver's license and proof of insurance
  • No motorized vehicles, except golf carts, are allowed on the trails.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO: climbing, fishing, jumping, or diving off or from the cliffs. Failure to comply with this will result in your expulsion from the park.
  • Primitive Camping is 6 nights maximum. Once the 6 nights are up you MUST leave for at least 13 nights before coming to camp primitive again.
  • Modern Electric Camping is 2 weeks maximum. Once the 2 weeks are up you MUST leave for 13 nights before camping modern electric again.
  • Car Passes are for campers only, all guests must pay the gate fee.
  • Any firewood brought in MUST be debarked!
  • Check-in is between 1:00PM and 9:00PM ONLY.
  • No check-in for primitive camping will be allowed after 9:00PM.

Drone Flight Rules and Guidelines

  • Drones and other airborne devices may only be operated in the designated areas.
    • Designated Drone Flying Areas:
      • Upper  Prairie
      • Lower Prairie
      • Any Trail that can accomodate usage
    • DRONES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
      • Beach
      • Swimming Quarry
      • All Camping Areas
      • All Playgrounds
  • Drones are NOT to be flown lower than 20 feet
  • For use outside of the designated areas, written and signed permission must be granted by the current park superintendent.
  • If the superintendent is unavailable, Cass County Parks employees may issue written and signed permission for flight.
  • FAA license and proof of insurance will be required for use outside of the designated areas.

Fishing Rules and Guidelines

  • Fishing is allowed in the designated Fishing Lake. A fishing license is required.
  • You may keep the fish you catch.
  • No fishing is allowed in Kenith Quarry at any time regardless of season.
  • Fisherman are required to clean up and remove any items used during their activity.
  • Gas motors are not permitted on any of our lakes.

Swimming Rules and Guidelines

  • Swimming is allowed in the designated swim area of Kenith Quarry from one hour after Sunrise until one hour before Sunset.
  • No animals are permitted on the beach.
  • Minors MUST be accompanied by an adult.
  • Swimming during rain will only be permitted if lightning is not present.
  • Once entering the water you understand that France Park/Cass County in its entirety is not held responsible for any injuries/death.
  • Glass bottles and animals are not allowed on the beach.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO: climbing, fishing, jumping, or diving off or from the cliffs. Failure to comply with this will result in your expulsion from the park.
  • Please swim safely and swim AT YOUR OWN RISK.
