USDA Accreditation in Indiana

First-time Accreditation in Indiana

The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) has state-specific requirements to be accredited in Indiana.

After completing appropriate accreditation paperwork and requirements set forth by USDA (including the Initial Accreditation Training and the USDA core orientation modules online), licensed veterinarians seeking accreditation in Indiana for the first time, may do so by completing a 90-minute orientation session, led by a BOAH staff member.

The Indiana-specific orientation will be offered online, at no charge, via a live MS Teams meeting. The veterinarian must be able to participate on an electronic device to allow live audio and visual interaction with BOAH.

To schedule an Indiana orientation, contact:  Lauren Bacon, RVT  via email:  lbacon@boah.in.gov

Upon completion of the Indiana orientation, the BOAH trainer will send an email to the veterinarian confirming completion. The veterinarian will be responsible for providing that email to USDA’s designated accreditation coordinator for Indiana to finalize the documentation process. USDA will notify the veterinarian and provide the accreditation number.
