Signing Up for a New Account

Ready to sign-up for your new account? Complete the following steps

STEP 1

Go to https://access.in.gov.

Click on the gold-color Sign Up for Access Indiana.

Button is located under the text 'Don't have an account?' on the left side of the page.


STEP 2

Enter your personal or business email address (If you are an IDOH Gateway user, you must use your IDOH Gateway email address to register.).

Click Send Verification Code to continue.

Do not use a temporary email address. This should be an email address you will always have access to.


STEP 3

Open a new browser tab or window to check your email for a message with the subject of Access Indiana Email Verification.

Copy or write down the verification code.


STEP 4

Under Verification Code, paste or type the code.

Click Continue.


STEP 5

Enter your password and confirm your entered password.

Click Continue to proceed to the next step.


STEP 6

Enter your personal identifying information.

Click Create Account to proceed to the next step.

NOTE: After this step your account has been created and the proceeding steps are optional.


(OPTIONAL) STEP 7

Chose whether or not to use Two-Step Verification.

If you choose to opt in, enter your phone number and click Continue to proceed to the next step.

OR

Click Skip This to proceed to the next step.


(OPTIONAL) STEP 7B

Validate Two-Step Verification.

If you choose to opt in, choose your method of a second factor and proceed to verifying with the code provided. Once done, click Continue to proceed to the next step.

OR

Click Skip This to proceed to the next step.


(OPTIONAL) STEP 8

Chose whether or not to use a Secondary Email.

If you choose to opt in, enter a secondary email (must be different than your primary email) and click Send Verification Code to proceed to the next step.

OR

Click Skip This to proceed to the next step.

Reset Your Access Indiana Password

If you are having trouble logging in and need to recover your password, complete the following steps.

STEP 1

Enter your Access Indiana primary email address.

Click Continue.


STEP 2

Click Reset Your Access Indiana Password.


STEP 3

Open a new browser tab or window to check your email for a message with the subject of Access Indiana Password Reset.

Copy or write down the verification code.


STEP 4

Under Verification Code, paste or type the code.

Click Continue.


STEP 5

To reset your password, enter a new password then enter again to confirm.

Click Reset Password to complete the process.

Instructions for Adding an Authenicator to Your Access Indiana Account

STEP 1

Navigate to the Access Indiana “Account Security” page after you have logged in.

Click Continue.


STEP 2

Click the “Add Authenticator” button.


STEP 3

Enter your Access Indiana password and select your preferred Authenticator app you have on your phone (Microsoft Authenticator is being selected for this example).


STEP 4

Click the “Continue” button.


STEP 5

Scan the QR Code with your phone’s Authenticator app or enter the secret key into the Authenticator.


STEP 6

Enter the verification code sent to you Authenticator app on your phone and click the “Continue” Button.


STEP 7

After clicking the continue button you will land back on the Access Indiana Account Security page and see that the Authenticator is now enabled.


STEP 8

After signing out of Access Indiana and then signing back in the user will now see the ability to use their Authenticator to complete the login process. Select the “Authenticator radio button” and click the “Continue” button.


STEP 9

Enter the verification code you received on your Authenticator app and click the “Continue” button.


STEP 10

The user will be successfully sign in and land on the Access Indiana Dashboard.


How to update your email address in Access Indiana

Note: If you are switching your Recovery Email to be the Primary email address, you must first change the Recovery Email.

STEP 1

Log in to your account, and in your Dashboard on your right, you can update your profile information including changing your email address.

Select Profile OR select Change Email Address and/or Change Recovery Email.


STEP 2

Type in your password and enter your new email address.


STEP 3

Enter your verification code and click continue. Success! Your new email address is shown on your profile page.


Changing your Recovery Email

Note: If you want to change your recovery email, you have two options.

OPTION 1

Go to Profile in the top-right of your screen and under Recovery Email Address click Change Recovery Email on the right.


OPTION 2

OR on your Access Indiana Dashboard, click on Change Recovery Email.


STEP 2

Enter your current password and type in your new Recovery Email Address.


STEP 3

Enter your verification code and click Continue.
