Arrearage & Disconnection Data Reporting

Overview

Eight Indiana utilities are reporting monthly data on customer disconnections and arrearages to the OUCC through early 2024. They are doing so under settlement agreements that were finalized in mid-October.

Under the agreements’ terms, the OUCC filed a motion to dismiss its request for a Commission investigation to assess the need for monthly reporting. The Commission approved the motion on Oct. 26, 2022.

  • Settlement Agreement #1 includes 5 of the state’s 6 large electric and natural gas utilities (AES Indiana, CenterPoint Energy, Duke Energy, I&M, and NIPSCO).
  • Settlement Agreement #2 includes 3 small natural gas utilities (Community Natural Gas Co., Indiana Natural Gas Corp., and Midwest Natural Gas Corp.).

For more information, please see the OUCC's Oct. 18, 2022 news release.

The file for Cause No. 45736 is available on the Commission website.
