AES Petersburg Repowering Project
AES Indiana is seeking IURC approval to repower its Petersburg Generating Station (Units 3 & 4) from coal to natural gas and to recover costs through future rates. The utility’s testimony estimates construction costs at about $293.2 million.
AES filed its petition and the following testimony on Mar. 11, 2024:

The OUCC is the state agency - separate from the IURC - that represents all consumers in cases before the Commission is reviewing the utility's request and anticipates filing testimony June 5, 2024.
Written comments from the public are invited through May 29, 2024.
