I&M Rockport Emission Controls Case (2016/2017)

UPDATE: An IURC order was issued on March 26, 2018.

In Cause No. 44871, Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is seeking IURC approval of its plans to add new emission control equipment at its Rockport Generating Facility in Spencer County. I&M is also seeking approval to recover the project’s costs through rates.

The OUCC filed the following testimony on February 3, 2017:

The OUCC issued a January 20, 2017 news release to invite consumer comments. IURC public field hearings were held in February 2017 in Rockport and Fort Wayne.

All hearings in this case have concluded. Formal parties have filed written closing arguments as follows:

  • I&M filed its proposed order on March 22, 2017.
  • The OUCC and intervening parties have since filed proposed orders and/or replies.
  • I&M's reply brief was filed on April 17, 2017. The utility filed additional information concerning the unit's lease on July 21, 2017 and August 10, 2017. On September 8, 2017, the OUCC and industrial intervenors filed a joint response. I&M filed further information on November 21, 2017 and January 9, 2018.
