South Bend Municipal Water
The City of South Bend is seeking a rate increase for its municipal water utility.
On May 31, 2017, the City filed its petition and testimony (Horvath and Walsh) with the IURC. The full case file is available by clicking here and entering cause number 44951.
The OUCC is reviewing the utility's request and expects to file testimony on November 17, 2017. Our website includes an overview of the rate case process and a guide for providing public input.
Written consumer comments are invited for the case record. For more information, please see the OUCC's August 14, 2017 news release.
Only South Bend's water rates are at issue in this case. Municipal sewer utilities are exempt from IURC oversight, with their rates set by elected city and town councils.
