OUCC > Water/Sewer > Key Cases By Utility > South Bend Municipal Water South Bend Municipal Water

The City of South Bend is seeking a rate increase for its municipal water utility.

On May 31, 2017, the City filed its petition and testimony (Horvath and Walsh) with the IURC. The full case file is available by clicking here and entering cause number 44951.

The OUCC will review the utility's request and file testimony on a future date to be confirmed. Our website includes an overview of the rate case process and a guide for providing public input.

Written consumer comments are invited with an IURC public hearing to be held on a date to be determined.

Only South Bend's water rates are at issue in this case. Municipal sewer utilities are exempt from IURC oversight, with their rates set by elected city and town councils.
