Floyds Knobs Water Company, Inc. and the OUCC have reached a settlement agreement in the utility's pending rate case. Proposed rate computation schedules and a proposed order have been filed with the IURC for its consideration.
The agreement would allow the utility to increase rates by 28.7 percent, while authorizing the utility to borrow up to $4.7 million through the Indiana State Revolving Fund loan program.
Floyd's Knobs Water Company filed its formal request (57 pages) on October 31, 2013, seeking a 30.3 percent base rate increase. The OUCC filed its report on April 8, 2014, recommending limiting the increase to 23.6 percent. On September 22, 2014, the utility filed a revised request (61 pages) seeking a 32.5 percent increase.
An IURC public field hearing was held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Floyd Central High School. The OUCC issued a March 17, 2014 news release to publicize the hearing and invite consumer comments.
