Frankfort Municipal Electric Rates
In a July 5, 2017 order, the IURC has approved a settlement agreement between the OUCC and the City of Frankfort. The approved agreement will allow base electric rates to rise by 8.63 percent, compared to the 10.09 percent request in the city's original proposal.
The OUCC issued a November 28, 2016 news release to invite consumer comments in the case. An IURC public field hearing was held on December 5, 2016 in Frankfort.

Frankfort's previous electric base rates were approved in 1997.
Electric utilities can also adjust rates due to changes in wholesale power costs. Those costs can only be recovered on a dollar-for-dollar basis. They include OUCC review and IURC approval before taking effect.
As of July 2017, Frankfort's electric rates ranked seventh among the 14 electric utilities the IURC regulates.
