UPDATE (6/22/16): The IURC has extended the deadline to issue an order in this case until late August.

American Suburban Utilities, Inc. (ASU) provides sewer service in Tippecanoe County. It is seeking a three-phase rate increase due to capital projects. If granted, the residential flat rate would eventually rise from $47.50 to $85.17 (under the utility's request in its March 24, 2016 proposed order). ASU's current rates took effect in 2000.

The OUCC recommends limiting the eventual increase to $60.80 in the proposed order it filed on April 25, 2016. Proposed orders are the equivalent of closing arguments.

For an overview of the following testimony filed earlier this year, please see the OUCC's January 14, 2016 news release.

The OUCC issued an October 27, 2015 news release to invite consumer comments. An IURC public field hearing was held in West Lafayette on November 16, 2015.

This case has been consolidated with ASU's financing request in Cause Number 44700. The OUCC filed testimony (11 pages) on the financing request on February 11, 2016.

An IURC order is expected in the coming weeks. This page will be updated based on case developments.
