On December 22, 2009, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) issued orders in two docketed cases regarding Sugar Creek Utility Company, Inc., which provides water and sewer utility service in Hancock County.

In IURC Cause No. 43579, the utility requested an increase in its rates and charges. An IURC public field hearing and OUCC information meeting was held April 15 at Greenfield Middle School.

In Cause No. 43534, the IURC conducted a formal investigation of Sugar Creek Utility Company’s operations, billing practices and rate structure.

The utility and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC) filed testimony in both cases.
