Anderson Municipal Electric Rates

Anderson Municipal Power & Light filed for a rate increase in cause number 46397. The utility filed its petition and the following testimony on April 25:

The OUCC is reviewing the request and will file testimony on July 30. Consumer comments are invited and a public feild hearing has been scheduled for July 20, 2026. The OUCC's July 16, 2026 news release has more information.

The IURC approved Anderson Municipal Light & Power's (AML&P's) current rates in 2014. To review the case's public file, visit the IURC website and enter cause number 44308.

AML&P can also adjust rates due to changes in wholesale power costs. Those costs can only be recovered on a dollar-for-dollar basis. They include OUCC review and IURC approval before taking effect.

As of July 2025, Anderson's average monthly residential electric bill ranks third-lowest among the electric utilities the IURC regulates.
