The OUCC and the Town of Ellettsville have reached a settlement agreement in the town's municipal water utility rate case.
The agreement is pending before the IURC which may accept, reject, or modify it. It would limit the water rate increase to 21.7 percent, compared to the 24.6 percent increase originally requested by the town. Terms include the elimination of the surcharge on customers outside of the town limits.
Sewer rates are not at issue in this case, with state law not giving the IURC authority over municipal sewer utilities. The OUCC issued a September 28, 2015 news release to invite written consumer comments.
This page will be updated based on case developments.
Ellettsville's current water rates were approved in 2009.
