The goal of AmeriCorps Improving Health Throughout Indiana (AIHTI) is to help eliminate health disparities in Indiana by promoting healthy weight management through proper nutrition and physical activity.  AIHTI pairs local non-profit organizations that need help to create or improve healthy-weight programs with AmeriCorps Members interested in gaining experience in health promotion while serving their community.  Full time, half time, and minimum time/education award only positions.

The Harmony-Corps Student Engagement Project is a program of the Harmony Education Center (HEC).  Harmony is based on the principal that the role of education in a democracy is to sensitize young people to the delicate balance between individual growth and community responsibility.  The mission of the Harmony-Corps Program is to stand as authentic allies for urban youth to create equitable outcomes in their school, community, and world.  Harmony-Corps members facilitate and support opportunities for youth leadership, youth-led programming, and family engagement in Indianapolis high schools and communities.  Full time positions.

Indiana Campus Compact Grow Indiana AmeriCorps members provide direct service and support to local 3rd-12th grade schools to increase both math awareness and student performance. Members will address the needs of the state of Indiana through the coordination and implementation of math tutor programs, while building relationships between higher education institutions, local community organizations and Indiana schools. Members provide leadership in the community and on campus promoting community involvement, service, and civic engagement. Full and minimum-time positions.

Indiana HabiCorps members are assigned to different Habitat affiliates throughout the state and serve in 4 main areas:  Construction, Volunteer Coordination, Family Support and Capacity Building.  All HabiCorps members will be involved in service directly related to eliminating sub-standard or poverty housing for very low resource families.

The Indiana Response and Preparedness Corps aims to help communities in northern and central Indiana effectively prepare for and respond to disasters. From teaching disaster preparedness classes to recruiting and mentoring new disaster volunteers to working with local businesses able to provide shelter in times of disaster, the Indiana Response and Preparedness Corps is preparing and helping communities before, during, and after a disaster strikes.

Socio-economically challenged neighborhoods throughout Indianapolis.

The Neighborhood After School Corps, an AmeriCorps program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, provides services and programs to better the lives of youth in Marion County. Services focus strongly on leadership development programs and creating opportunities for youth to implement community service projects, but members offer a wide variety of programs and activities as well.  Additional  services such as tutoring, after school enrichment activities, summer day camps, conflict resolution skills, violence prevention skills, health education, and organized recreation are offered to meet the needs of low-income, vulnerable youth and their families in Indianapolis.

This AmeriCorps project recruits diverse young people, ages 18-30, and places them in community and faith-based organizations where they serve for four days each week for ten months on projects that create, improve or expand services with measurable results.  Every Friday, known as the fifth day, members participate in an intensive leadership program that blends individual coaching, team building, weekly training, critical reflection, and team service projects in which members develop, implement and evaluate projects that impact their communities.  Full time positions

The Sycamore Service Corps is an intergenerational corps of volunteers that include local residents and students from the area’s higher education institutions.  Volunteers are placed in human service agencies within a five county area of West Central Indiana.  Members provide service in the priority areas of family self-sufficiency and stability, poverty, economic development, public safety and education.  Over fifty part-time members serve in the program.
