As a convenience, the tanks on this list have been approved for commercial applications. Commercially used tanks must be fitted with minimum 18-inch diameter risers with safely secured, gas-tight covers. Engineers and architects submitting septic system plans need to specify the following:

1. Tank size;
2. Single or two-compartment;
3. Properly sized access risers (one for each compartment).
4. Safely secured, gas-tight covers over the risers.

All tanks on this list are of a single compartment design unless designated as two-compartment (2-comp.). Applications requiring a two-compartment tank should either select a manufactured two-compartment tank, or provide two individual tanks in series. MANUFACTURERS MAY NOT ARBITRARILY MAKE TWO-COMPARTMENT TANKS FROM APPROVED SINGLE-COMPARTMENT DESIGNS WITHOUT ISDH APPROVAL.
