In 1981, Kent Apsley graduated with Honors from Indiana University with a degree in Political Science and Forensic Studies. He continued at IU to obtain his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1983. He was admitted to practice law in 1984.
He is currently a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Shelby County Bar Association, the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council, the National District Attorneys Association, and has been the President of the Association of Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys, Inc. From 1995-1996 he served as the Chief Deputy Prosecutor of Shelby County and was elected as the Prosecutor in 1999.
