The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) presented Roche Diagnostics-Indianapolis, Purdue University and Michigan City High School with the 2017 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence. These awards recognize Indiana’s leaders who have implemented outstanding environmental strategies into their operations and decision-making processes.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) presented Car Recyclers, Inc. of North Manchester, Indiana, with the Indiana Clean Yard-Gold Level award in recognition of the company’s efforts to protect the environment. Bob Lugar, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of IDEM’s Office of Program Support, presented a commemorative certificate to owners Kelly and Trina Kerlin during a site visit last week.

Hani Sharaya, environmental engineer, with Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), presented Martin Hollingshead and Northlake Auto Recyclers with the Indiana Clean Yard-Gold Level award in recognition of the company’s efforts to protect the environment. The facility, located in Hammond, also received a 100 percent score in the Best Management Practice Checklist, the first auto recycler to obtain this distinction since the program was created.

Hani Sharya, environmental engineer with Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), presented Mike Niedbalski, owner of Mike’s Auto Salvage & Towing, with the Indiana Clean Yard award in recognition of the company’s efforts to protect the environment. The facility is located at 1732 E. McKinley Highway Mishawaka, Indiana.
