Indiana Commission on the Social Status of Black Males

ICSSBM > Events > Kings Feast Symposium 2014 Recap Kings Feast Symposium 2014 Recap

Indianapolis - The 2014 Kings Feast Symposium was, once again, a successful event put on by Bloom Project Inc. and their partners including the Indiana Commission on the Social Status of Black Males and the Indiana Civil Rights Commission.

Approximately 80 teen males came out to the Indiana Government Center on Saturday, September 20th to gain life changing information that will serve to motivate them and mold them into tomorrow’s leaders. The day began with a welcoming from ICRC Executive Director Jamal Smith and MC James Dix III, followed by a ‘Real Talk’ discourse from the emphatic Pastor Eli Johnson.

The teens went into their breakout sessions where they learned about the importance of leadership and mentorship, while engaging in dialogue with professionals from fields that interest them. ICSSBM Executive Director, James Garrett, held sessions to inform the youth about their civil rights. Parenting and Professional sessions for the attending adults were also taking place while the teens were in their breakout sessions.

Keynote Speaker Robert Jackson capped off the event with an enlightening talk about what it means to be a King in today’s society. Director of Bloom Project Inc. and Kings Feast visionary, Arnetta Scruggs, continues to put on great events that inspire and guide future generations on their path to success.
