This Isn’t Private Information
NGA surveillance of our email. Military and civilian use of drones. Applications that capture and use your location. Geospatial privacy is in the bull’s eye of the media. On the one hand is a reasonable expectation that some amount of personal information is private. On the other is the democratic necessity of government transparency. The tension between these two perspectives is causing us all to reconsider how much of our geospatial information should be public and how much should be private.
