Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit for private, for-profit employers to encourage hiring jobseekers who traditionally have difficulty finding employment, such as some Hoosier Veteran groups, individuals who have utilized welfare programs, ex-felons, individuals with disabilities and certain groups of Hoosier youth.

To submit your applications, complete and send your IRS Form 8850 and ETA Form 9061 or ETA Form 9062 to our office. If Long Term Unemployed is the target group, Form 9175 must be completed and submitted.

The IRS Form 8850 must be submitted to our office, within 28 days after the applicant’s start date.

How to apply electronically (recommended)

You can now apply electronically by registering and following these simple steps:

  1. You will receive a confirmation email upon receipt and approval of your registration.
  2. Login to e-WOTC to e-WOTC and continue with your registration.
  3. Refer to the User's Guide (Coming Soon) and Terms and Conditions for questions on how to apply electronically.
