Court Substance Abuse Management Specialist (CSAMS)

According to Section 30(b) of the Rules, all professional staff members hired after December 31, 2004, must obtain and maintain a Court Substance Abuse Management Specialist (CSAMS) credential. Only those employed by an Indiana Office of Court Services (IOCS) - certified court alcohol and drug program are eligible to take the CSAMS exam and apply for the CSAMS credential.

Please see the link below to complete the online CSAMS Exam application and pay your $50.00 non-refundable fee. Once your application and fee are processed, you will receive scheduling information on available exam dates.

The two-hour computerized examination is offered once a month at 251 N. Illinois Street, Suite 800 in downtown Indianapolis. A photocopy of your state identification card or state driver's license (including a current picture) will be required at the testing location. Review materials or resources will not be allowed during the exam.

Before you begin, please ensure you have all required documentation ready to upload.  Applications will not be accepted until all the requirements to obtain the credential are complete.  Refer to Section 30 of the Rules for Court-Administered Alcohol and Drug Programs for a detailed list of the requirements to obtain the CSAMS credential.

After your application is submitted, an email will be sent to you with instructions on forwarding to your supervisor for approval and signature.
