The Indiana Court Improvement Program (CIP) is accepting applications for projects designed to improve the safety, well-being and permanency of children and families involved in child abuse and neglect proceedings. GO

 
Strategy
The strategy of the Court Improvment Program involves the plan for use of CIP funds in FY 2003-2006 and a plan for conducting a reassessment of our state courts’ handling of proceedings relating to foster care and adoption that meets applicable federal requirements. GO

Indiana's Court Improvement Program
Since its inception in 1995, Indiana’s CIP has progressed through five phases: (1) Assessment of Indiana’s adjudication of child abuse and neglect cases (1995 to June 1997); (2) Initial sub-grants awarded to counties (late 1996 to December 1998); (3) Second round of sub-grants awarded to counties (March 1999 to January 2001); (4) Family Court pilot projects (January to Late 2001); (5) Replication of successful Phase 3 and 4 sub-grants (June 2001 to present).
