In 1997 the Indiana General Assembly transferred the responsibility for certification, training, and support of Court Alcohol and Drug Programs in Indiana from the executive branch to the Indiana Judicial Center. In 1997 the Court Alcohol and Drug Program Advisory Committee (CADPAC), was created as a committee of the Judicial Conference of Indiana, to assist the Center in this task. In 1998 the Judicial Center hired an administrator for the program. An assistant administrator, a staff attorney, and a program coordinator have since been added to the program team. Approximately fifty-five circuit, superior, county, and city courts have court alcohol and drug programs.
To develop, train, certify, and support court-administered alcohol and drug programs operating under the provisions of IC 12-23-14 and the Rules for Court-Administered Alcohol & Drug Program promulgated by the Judicial Conference of Indiana.
