Mineral Springs Road was closed to through traffic from Planet Court to US Highway 20 on December 1, 2023 due to deterioration of the steel beams on the bridge over the Little Calumet River. Porter County conducted a bridge inspection and determined that the structure is unsafe for all traffic.
Per Porter County, bids for the new bridge are to be opened and awarded in September 2025. The bridge is scheduled to reopen to traffic in late 2026.
